EG-CSR270S | Stable Slitting for Breathable & Non-Breathable PP and PE Films
Case Study 2026-07-31Nicely recently completed an EG-CSR270S in-line master rewinder designed for integration with hygiene-material production lines, supporting uninterrupted continuous slitting and rewinding of breathable & non-breathable film.
Breathable & Non-Breathable film has a microporous structure and high extensibility, making it highly sensitive to tension variations during converting. Unstable tension during unwinding, slitting, or rewinding can cause wrinkles, elongation, inconsistent roll formation, and reduced downstream lamination quality.
The project therefore focused not simply on higher processing speed, but on stable long-term tension control and automatic roll-change capability to support continuous production and consistent finished-roll quality.
Enhanced Tension and Rewinding Control for Film Materials
The EG-CSR270S in-line master winder focuses on tension control and rewinding quality for breathable & non-breathable film. Multi-stage tension control and rewind pressure adjustment adapt operating conditions to material characteristics and roll-diameter changes, helping reduce wrinkles, deformation, and uneven roll hardness.
To support continuous in-line production, the machine integrates:
- Automatic flying splice
- Automatic roll taking-off
- Automatic shaft insertion system
- Automatic finished-roll transfer
Together, these functions enable non-stop line operation and improve machine uptime.
Automation for Stable Long-Run Production
To reduce the frequency of operator adjustments, the EG-CSR270S in-line master winder is equipped with:
- Automatic rewind tension calculation control
- Multi-stage taper tension control
- Cross-cutting knife for automatic web cut-off
- Automatic roll-change control system
- Standby shaft positioning and shaft-change system
- Finished-roll transfer system
- Rail-mounted electric lateral unloading trolley
- PLC control system
- HMI operator interface
Integrated mechanical, automation, and electrical systems allow the machine to adjust tension as the roll diameter changes, maintain stable rewinding quality, and improve overall line efficiency.

Slitting Configuration Based on Material Characteristics
Breathable & Non-breathable film is widely used in hygiene products and medical materials. Converting performance depends not only on slitting speed, but also on stable tension, rewinding quality, and efficient integration with downstream processes.
Beyond web width and production capacity, machine selection should also consider material extensibility, thickness, slit width, finished-roll diameter, and production method.
Nicely develops slitting solutions around material characteristics and actual process requirements, balancing stable production, automation efficiency, and long-term operating reliability.
